5 sewing projects that made my life easier as a new mom

Sewing projects that are not only beautiful but also genuinely useful are my absolute favorites! So, here are 6 wonderful sewing patterns that deliver both WOW-factor and practicality. These are also perfect to sew before your little one arrives to help make everyday baby life a little easier. đŸ„°

  1. Babynest. We used this every single day for about six months. Easily one of the best things I ever made! (Bonus tip: sew several extra mattresses so you can just swap them out when accidents happen—instead of washing the whole nest!)

  1. On-The-Go Diaper Clutch + Changing Pad. A real lifesaver! Perfect for packing everything you need for diaper changes on the go—just toss it in your stroller or any bag. We used this daily until we potty trained. Thanks to this clutch + changing pad combo, we’ve changed diapers in the car, on a bench mid-hike, in the camper van, and on random floors when there were no changing tables. A true game-changer!

  1. Antilopis The Cushion Cover. Babies are messy eaters. EVERYTHING gets messy. Having a stash of these cushion covers for our high chair made it easy to switch to a clean one after basically every meal. I even made a few from wipeable oilcloth fabric, which made cleaning up even faster. Highly recommend this for all parents!

  1. Prylis the Crib Pocket. This crib-side organizer holds everything you need for bedtime. Cloths, pacifiers, wipes, diapers, pajamas, toys, creams, nasal aspirators, socks—you name it! It’s incredibly handy to have all those little items (that constantly go missing!) right within reach.

  1. Dreglis the Baby Bib. Teething babies drool. And not just a little—they DROOL. It’s wild how much saliva a tiny human can produce in minutes. đŸ«Ł Having a stack of these bibs saved me from changing shirts or onesies 30 times a day. 👀

You’ll find these patterns—and plenty of other baby essentials to sew—over in my webshop!

Happy sewing!
